Azonto dancing originated in Ghana, but thanks to the likes of trio A’Won Boyz, the fever is spreading to Lagos and all the way to NYC.

Currently living in Brooklyn, the Nigerian-Americans A’won Boyz (“those boys”) are igniting azonto and Afro-pop fever with a sense of humor in an effort to become the representative Naija group living stateside. They’ve already garnered some mainstream attention, with a top ranking in D’banj’s recent dance competition, and a nomination for the Nigerian Entertainment Award category Best US Artist.

Releasing singles and mixtapes, their upbeat track “Azonto” has picked up a lot of steam in pop-appreciating circles around the globe, whether or not you can do the dance moves. Here it is:
