There’s a certain kind of energy that one comes to expect when listening to British indie rock. You expect it to be rebellious, stylized but a bit arrogant, and a bit skate and destroy. London rockers New Ivory are no different, bringing their aggressive blend of energy-filled indie rock to the table via members Mickey (vocals and guitar), Alessandro (vocals and bass) and Nite (drummer) under the label banner of Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak records.

It should come as no surprise though that the super EDM DJ took notice of the local trio, who had become regulars on the touring circuit, playing gig after gig after gig throughout Europe in their early days on the scene. Then known as the Leggins, the band had already released Arrow and Slings, their first EP, to their growing audience. But it was their live show that ultimately got the band signed, and then their 2011 released single, “A Knight,” under their new moniker, that sent the band’s buzz flowing.

Working organically, the members of New Ivory have been huddling in an Italian music studio since, honing their sound with the likes of Maurizio Baggio and mixed by Joe Marlett (of Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, and Blink 182 fame). Expect their debut album, which promises to be a natural evolution from their early work plus a few surprises, to be released by Dim Mak records later this fall.
