Soothing Soundscape From Ireland’s MMOTHS
A Bedroom Producer Climbs the Charts
Fresh from earning his high school diploma (seriously), the 18-year-old Jack Colleran was bored in his bedroom during the snowy season, and took to producing singles and remixes on a budget from his bedroom. He called himself MMOTHS.
Colleran was more surprised than anyone when he eked out a spot on the Los Angeles SQE Music label, as well as a Twitter compliment from Flying Lotus, and the number 1 iTunes spot in Ireland.
Hailing from Newbridge Ireland, MMOTHS’ sleepy, charming electronic music spans remixes of Passion pit, Bon Iver, and Interpol to original singles feat. the buzzing Greek Balearic group Keep Shelly in Athens. His debut EP came out earlier this month, and quickly topped Irish charts. What did you do when you were 18?
His song gorgeous soundscape “Heart” garnered him the brunt of the attention. Enjoy the video below.
