The buzz in Kenya right now is all about a 21-year old emcee known as Xtatic. She has the solid skills and athletic delivery of greats like Lauryn Hill and Missy Elliot but she speaks in the voice of young, hungry Nairobi. And she just inked a deal with Sony Africa. The rising star was recently spotted in Johannesburg recording her debut album with The Fahrenheitz.

Xtatic caught the eyes and ears of the nation when she made it to the Kenyan finals of Channel O’s Emcee Africa in 2010. She drew significant interest with her single, last year’s “The Prep Track,” and the buzz built to a swarm.

If you’re unconvinced, listen to “Venom,” a very early track, and you’ll hear the raw talent. We’re excited for her debut for sure, but more than that, we can’t wait for her collab with Dama do Bling.

While we await the official release of her debut single “Wild!” check the teaser:
