Swedish songstress Amanda Mair hasn’t been in the industry long. When she was discovered by Labrador Records in 2010, the fifteen year-old had no Myspace page, no recorded demos, and she had to be accompanied by her parents to night club gigs. Compared by many to legendary Brit Kate Bush, Mair’s haunting vocals and soothing melodies make for easy breezy, melancholy listening. Her debut single, “House” was well-received by critics in mid-2011. Two more singles, “Doubt” and “Sense” followed, paving the way for her self-titled album. She might be a greenhorn, but Amanda Mair’s certainly a name you’ll be hearing again.
