Céu
Her name means “sky” or “heaven” in Portuguese, and indeed, there’s something downright celestial about Céu. The Brazilian alt-diva is a frontrunner in the novo-Tropicália movement which builds on Brazilian rock and roll traditions of the ‘60s and ‘70s. Céu’s music blends up Brazilian rhythms from bossa nova to maracatú with downtempo trip-hop, textured rock and vintage soul, resulting in dreamy South American soundscapes.
