Goldfish
While taking a break from surfing, Capetown Jazz music students Dominic Peters and David Poole locked themselves in their room with a double bass, a sax and some synths. When they came out, they had their first album, Caught In The Loop, a live electronica hybrid that launched them into the dance stratosphere. These South African jazz house up-and-comers released their second album on Pacha, the biggest dance label in the world, and their single “Fort Knox” flamed up the U.S. iTunes dance charts. Since then, they’ve been touring their live act all over the world, with residencies in Ibiza and as opening acts for Basement Jaxx and Fatboy Slim. These two small town boys from the southern tip of Africa are being hailed as the reinvention of the DJ, and it’s easy to see why.
