Huoratron, from Finland, is a scary-a$$ dude. His beard is scary, his music is scary, and his videos are scary. But the shock is only temporary before you go sprinting toward the dance floor. Folks are calling tracks off Huoratron’s recent EP Prevenge “grindcore” because of the abrasive pounding metal and industrial influences. Not to mention that, the heavily-distorted glitches literally sound like machinery grinding you into the dance floor. Huoratron has been touring all over the globe with names like Steve Aoki, Ladytron and Sweden’s Dada Life in preparation for his debut album release and there is also a video for the single “Corporate Occult” that should not be missed though it is NOT for children or the easily offended.
Many of Huortatron’s tracks, including his breakthrough 2008 single “$$ Troopers,” come with unmistakable techno and house beats a la Boys Noize (past collaborators of Huoratron). In other words, Huoratron is club-friendly, but if you try to fist-pump you’ll get eaten by a vampire or something.
