After winning the 2010 Musiktilraunir battle of the bands competition Icelandic indie rockers Of Monsters and Men have been swiftly moving up the ranks. After signing an exclusive recording contract with Universal Music Group, the sextet, who pride themselves on being new age chamber pop meets folk music, released their four-song EP Into the Woods in December 2011, further proving their champion sound.
Their first full-length album, My Head is An Animal, which debuted last April, promised to expand upon the band’s relentless passion for daydreaming and crafting killer tracks. And the genre-pushing band of multi-instrumentalists did just that.Dare we mention they also won MTV Iggy’s Artist of the Week back in February of 2012?
