All Star Remixes of Amon Tobin’s Splinter Cell Soundtrack

All Star Remixes of Amon Tobin’s Splinter Cell Soundtrack

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, video games + nasty producers = awesome.

We liked it when TOKiMONSTA did it recently, and we know that producers would not be in the business of making video game music if Brazilian artist Amon Tobin didn’t pave the way in 2005 with the score for the hugely popular Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Ninja Tune just dropped an album of remixes of the Chaos Theory Soundtrack.

Chaos Theory Remixed will serve as the soundtrack to Splinter Cell 3D, a game for Nintendo 3DS, the upcoming handheld console that displays games in 3D without the need for 3D glasses (the future!).

The remix album includes work by Daedelus, The Qemists, Kid Koala, Lorn, King Cannibal, and Eskmo. Each one of these guys injects Tobin’s theatrical tracks with their own sound, keeping the darkness of the originals in tact.
