We thought Amy Winehouse was resting peacefully, more than a year after “misadventure” was ruled her cause of death.

But, no. According to Camden New Journal, the coroner who initially examined her body resigned recently. He had apparently hired his underqualified wife to oversee this job, among many others.

As a result, Winehouse’s inquest will be re-heard on January 13, which means the evidence will be pored over again in “Coroners Court” before a verdict is reached. Hopefully, “misadventure” will stick, as it sounds like the quaintest of options.
