It was a seriously tight race between Italy garage rock band Sultan Bathery and Brazil’s moody indie rock hybrid act Sexy Fi, but in the end, as always, sex sells. Sexy Fi squeaked by with the victory and is officially this week’s Artist of the Week. Congrats guys!

The group’s material, out later this year under the LP name Nunca Te Vi De Boa, is unlike anything on the Brazilian scene today. The songs pair serious musical chops with deep songwriting, and feature crafty, detailed arrangements. Contemplative indie tunes evolve into Afrobeat-inspired psychedelic jam-outs.
