Phinx’s dark electro rock machine propels us into a Franz Ferdinand-style dance frenzy and an dystopian future that’s unsettlingly similar to the present. Based in the Northern Italian city of Bassano del Grappa, the band has kids across Italy jumping to their wound-up dance floor burner “Italian Job.” Whether it’s the politically alienated lyrics or that infectious bass line that gets you — they’re winning hearts and minds … and MTV Iggy’s Artist of the Week competition.

Since the release of their 2010 debut Login, the raven-haired quartet has gotten plenty of love from Italian MTV, but Phinx clearly has the popular vote as well. Their fans swept our Artist of the Week poll without seeming to break a sweat.

Congrats to Phinx and their fans! Click here for the Q&A with these winners.

‘Til then, dig the jittery rhythms in “Italian Job.”
