It’s good timing for the Stockholm trio, who are coming out with their second album, Dystopico, in February. Their sound is marked by skipping avant-intensity that we’ve likened to Micachu and the Shapes, or an Atari Teenage Riot CD that has been scratched by a feral cat — only they don’t use electronics. Yes, real instruments are helping them achieve that batshit sound.
Part of the Swedish super-collective INGRID (home of Lykke Li and Miike Snow), Kriget is making something completely different than the Swedish pop we’ve come to expect. In fact, it’s different than anything, really.
Stay tuned for a tell-all interview with Kriget, and in the meantime, have a listen (and a disturbing look) at their new video for “Holy Mountain.”
