Speaking in Code, a brand spankin’ new documentary that follows the characters in techno as they ramble around the world, couldn’t bear to cut a single minute of footage they had of Cologne’s Kompakt Records — the beating heart of the techno scene and a force we’ve discussed before here at MTV Iggy.

So, they donated this 3-minute DVD extra to the internet at large. And it’s awesome.

Follow the cameras behind the scenes at the Utopian office — painted white, filled with light, and decorated with plants. Plants! Record “execs” wear slouchy hoodies, faded jeans, and explain how they get shipments of up to 10,000 discs from the presses a day. It’s a library dork’s wet dream to follow these guys through the “stacks” of their back catalog. Enjoy!
