Hard to believe that Sao Paulistana songbird Mallu got her start as an adorable tween with a MySpace page. For her latest video, “Sambinha Bom,” she demonstrates an affinity for chunky knits on bare flesh, unkempt hair, and striptease. At 19, she’s earned the right to be a little sexy, we think.

It’s hard to make “girl singer dancing at home” into a coherent three-minute video, but with jumpy cuts, split screens, and, a swimming pool full of dry ice, these guys did it. It’s a bonus that “Sambinha Bom” might be the nicest little bossa song this side of Bebel Gilberto. No surprise then that it’s already won Vimeo video of the week, and we’re pretty sure we’ll see Mallu bagging the trophies at the upcoming Brazilian MTV Awards.
