Our favorite hyped-up British new wavers, The XX, are the flavor of the year. And Canada’s electronic Vitaminsforyou has developed a taste for their R&B vocals layered over new wave basslines. They covered The XX track “Shelter” (Download their version here.)

And you thought the original was toned-down, somber, and quiet — the sonic portrait of night-time. Well, vitaminsforyou’s breathy, whispered electronic version is even eerier.
