Can’t Make it to Times Square for NYE?

Can’t Make it to Times Square for NYE?

By Amy Andrieux | December 28, 2012

We know…it’s brick outside and the weather is so undelightful this time of year. But that doesn’t mean you can’t warm up to some dope tunes, while ringing in the new year elsewhere. If you’re heading for the Big Apple this New Year’s Eve, here’s a rundown of four events that are sure to keep your body rocking.

AZEALIA BANKS TOPS THE STANDARD
Our favorite badass fashionista and fiery emcee is hitting the Standard Hotel on the eve of the new year, with a special performance at it’s rooftop venue. While it’s a black tie affair, we can just see it now: cocktail dresses, suits, spiked wing-tips, models hurling stories up and everyone jumping into Le Bain’s pool.

RJD2 DOES THEATRE WITH COM TRUISE
What’s a party without a DJ? And what’s a New Year’s Eve bash without two? Exactly. Legendary producer and and spindoctor RJD2 is heading to Gramercy Theatre with electronic maverick Com Truise for a night of anything left of sober. Thing you can handle it? Just remember to pay a cabbie to wait for you until the wee hours of the am, when you’ve had all you can take on the dancefloor.

DJ VENUS X  IS GOING TO SHANGHAI
Who else loves you baby? No one other than DJ Venus X, that’s for sure. And she’s dealing out futures, than 2013 is looking super sweet. Join the genre-bending DJ, alongwith Gavin Russom, Jon Santos & Safety Scissors, as they pull an all-nighter  live in Bushwick, Brooklyn. And since the party starts at 1am, you can love up your loved ones and then get totally wasted later.

AFROJACK LIKES PIERS
Get ready to get Jacked this New Year’s Eve, friends. Dutch music producer and DJ extraordinaire is planning a takeover of Pier 94, and he’s bringing some friends along. Hide your kids, hide your wife cause R3hab, Shermanology Quintino and Bobby Burns are throwing down. So if you don’t want none, please don’t mess with this merry band of turntablists, cause this event is going to be nothing nice.
