Where are those chilly, sad, experimental surf sounds coming from? Scandinavia? California?
Nope! They’re coming from Chile, and the mysterious solo artist Maifersoni is at the controls.
He just released a video for his washed out beat hodgepodge “Nómade” off his 2010 debut Telar Deslizante (or “slide loom”). It pretty much reveals nothing except for some kaleidscopic graphics and fuzzy camerawork in the Chilean landscape.
What we do know is that Maifersoni is Enrique Elgueta, and he could revel in the ranks of all-star indie trekkers Avey Tare or Gold Panda — only Maifersoni is even higher on reverb and acoustic guitar.
