Coldplay on The Simpsons

Coldplay on The Simpsons

UK piano rocker Chris Martin has all the fun. He’s married to triple-A list blondie Gwenyth Paltrow, he tours the world with Coldplay, and now he gets to be on The Simpsons.

“Do you think you can use someone like me in your band?” Homer asks.
“Come on up. You can play the tambourine,” the goggly-eyed cartoon version of Martin says, exhausted.
“The tambourine?” Homer asks. “I might as well play with dolls.”

In Your Daily YouTube below, catch a recording session with Martin and the Simpsons‘ writers and producers. They improv jokes, laugh at Martin’s acting out of their lines, and record a bunch of different punch lines than the ones that ended up in Sunday night’s episode — a clip of which is shown at the end of this video. Coldplay play “Viva” in revolutionary war regalia to a private audience of Bart and Homer in the “Naming Rights Available Arena.”
