For folks who were into “National Anthem” by Lana del Rey but a little tired of the original version’s swimming-in-strings production, there’s Das Racist to the rescue! Lana has released a new remix by the Queens trio, and they’ve stripped it down, muddied her vocals, and kept only her fey rap, Money is the reason we exist/Everybody knows it, it’s a fact. And it’s Heems and Kool A.D. here, so there are now Deepak Chopra references. Also, some of their POV as leftist, well-educated rappers who are kinda into money. Well, Heems is the CEO of an indie label called Greedhead, so it’s all coming together.

Oh and it sounds pretty wicked too. Best remix I’ve heard so far.
