LA-based musician Dawen is one of our favorites, so we were thrilled that he’s the newest guest blogger for our Bands On Tour feature. Learn more about him here and read his past posts from the tour!

Trying to lose all the weight that I’m gaining from eating so much here! I heart HK!
That’s it. The American Me Tour has finished for 2009! The tour starts up again next year in February 2010.
Now that everything’s done for this year I finally have time to soak in the city, the place where I spent my high school years. I forgot the public transportation is so awesome! (LA, why can’t our public transport be like this?) And the food is soooo good! Even better than I remembered. Not only is there dim sum, for which Hong Kong is famous, but there’s also the dai pai dongs — outdoor cafeteria-like restaurants where they serve the best deep fried meats and seafood! Definitely gonna gain ten pounds if I keep eating like this!

In addition to catching up with old friends and spending time with my family here, I’ve been soaking in the nightlife, which is especially exciting during the holidays. One highlight was meeting hip-hop artist and winner of BET’s 106 & Park rapper Jin tha MC and discovering that he and I are both part of the same Christian fellowship. (LC, GBS, what up!)
Small world. I also had a chance to stop by and visit the AliveNotDead family. So much stuff going on at any given point, Hong Kong sort of feels like an alternate New York City.
To all my fans that came to the shows, thanks so much! It’s been a crazy ride and I’m glad you got to be a part of it! Thanks for reading the blog and be sure to check back again when the tour starts up next year!
Happy Holidays and Best for 2010.
