Denmark’s Giana Factory Gets a Trentemøller Remix

By toksala | March 9, 2011

Giana Factory is one of those lush, nuanced electropop bands that seems ripe for the remixers.

They come with plenty of haunting offerings — dissonance, creepy prog indie Kate Bush weirdo experiments, and Raveonettes-style reverb washes that temporarily fool you into thinking their music is friendly and breezy. You’d be wrong.

Gearing up for their SXSW appearance, the 3-chicks 1-dude quartet invited other famous folk to remix them, including fellow Dane, Trentemøller.

The electronic chart-topper messed with their track “Dirty Snow” off their 2010 debut LP Save the Youth.

Meh. I like the original better, but this was all just one big excuse to talk about Giana Factory anyway.

There’s more to come from the international array Glasvegas, VETO, Autolux, and WhoMadeWho. Damn, can I be invited to your parties Giana?

Check out the remix.

And dig their one and only video, “Trippin” off their 2009 EP Bloody Game.
