Stoking the flames of our Diplo desire, the Phily-via-Florida production whiz has just dropped his version of a slow jam. Meaning not that slow at all, really. But compared to the energy (aka azz-shaking) of “Express Yourself,” his first single off his upcoming EP of the same name, latest track “Set It Off” launches into a blissed out, ethereal space — as ethereal as you can get while making basement-shaking moombahton.

And per Diplo’s genius in collaboration, on “Set It Off,” he worked with a Burlington, VT duo whose name so embodies everything Diplo stands for that I wonder if they’re just a musical shell company controlled by Mad Decent: Lazerdisk Party Sex. Their FB looks legit though, so I guess not. I suppose we’re just living in the kind of world where lasers get spelled lazer, even in the cold hippie climes of Vermont.
