It’s never too early to start getting pumped for Carnival. Maybe that’s why Erphaan Alves’ latest track is called “PUMP.” He’s been exploring dancehall and pop (“Summer Trendz,” “iNever”)  to great success this year, but it’s nice to hear him get back to soca basics on this Kingbubba / Platta Recording Studio produced number.

Alves is known for working the groovy end of soca (“In Your Eyes”), but this jam lists strongly in the direction of power soca. Could our young prodigy be angling for a Soca Monarch win next year? Could he get it? Tell us what you think.
