Feist Wins Big at Polaris

Feist Wins Big at Polaris

By Amy Andrieux | September 25, 2012

Don’t you love watching music awards shows? We do, especially when our faves win. Take for instance, Canadian singer/songwriter, Feist, who concluded last night’s infamous Polaris Prize gala with a big win— the 2012 Best Album of the Year award, for her album Metals.

Having been nominated for four Grammys and won eight Junos, the win comes as no surprise for Feist fans. But for those early critics who found her Metals project much more moody and ambient than records prior, and less appealing, the win is a reminder that Feist knows what she’s doing.

“I want to say is thank you to the people who really listened to my record,” said Feist. “I’m genuinely grateful from one solitary listener to another. Honestly, thanks.”

Congrats to Feist and other winners including Grimes, Japandroids, Drake, The Cold Specks among a few others.
