When we covered the UK’s AMAs, we couldn’t help dropping the tempting tidbit that Jay Sean — who swept the British awards — was hopping on a plane the next day to record Mary J. Blige’s new single, “Each Tear.”

Now the song is out. It’s a soulful duet backed by strong beats. Mary J. Blige has famously strong pipes. A judge on American Idol, she’s gotta be the most intimidating vocalist out there to stand up next to. But Jay Sean makes us proud — he  matches her perfectly. And he even had a good time. He tweeted:

man, @maryjblige is so cool! For someone that has paved the way and inspired so many artists, shes so humble. Love that. Amazing2work with.

Since then, they’ve shot a video together, which isn’t out yet. But we’ve got the pic at left!
