New York-based DJ duo Kill the DJs (KTDJS) gifted us this week with K-pop for Lovers, an hour and twenty minutes of pop hits tweaked, remastered and remixed into retro dance-rock, hip-hop, atmospheric R&B, disco, abstract reggae and blues. While it’s core may be Korean pop, this mixtape has something for the lover of any genre.When it opens with the rather spacey Tzechar remix of GD&TOP‘s “High High,” it’s clear from the get-go that K-pop for Lovers isn’t your run of the mill K-pop mix. As it continues, all of our favorites are barely recognizable in the best way, re-imagined with fresh new styles and beats. Keep an ear out for romantic dialogue from several classic Korean films.

The smooth R&B flow of Girls’ Generation‘s “The Boys” and 2NE1‘s “I Hate You” vs. the very ’80s synth-heavy “Dolce Vita” by Ryan Paris; Brown Eyed Girls‘s sultry “Abracadabra” vs. a Knocks remix of Santigold’s “The Keepers” —it’s crazy. Crazy good. Take a listen right here:
