La Vida Boheme Releases Hot New Doc, Gets Grammy Nod

By Halley Bondy | December 5, 2011

It’s all in a week’s work for the Venezuelan dance punks La Vida Boheme.  Last week, not only did the band get nominated in the Grammys’ Best Latin Pop, Rock Or Urban Album category (congrats, guys!) , but they also added documentary subjects their impressive list of accomplishments for 2011. Not bad, right? It’s more like pretty awesome, actually.

Anyway, IGGY’s favorite paint-splattered Best Band Finalists debuted the hourlong doc titled La Vida Boheme: Informa (La Vida Boheme: Informs) on their youtube channel on Friday and it’s already clocking in at over 8,000 views. The Spanish-language feature, filmed by Carl Ziteman last January, includes intimate interviews and exclusive live performances from La Vida Boheme’s Grammy-nominated debut Nuestra as well as covers of Manu Chao’s “Por El Suelo” and The Crickets’ “I Fought The Law.”

Watch Informa below, and be sure to check back to see La Vida Boheme’s real-time live performance on MTV IGGY’s Best New Band concert next Monday.
