To ring in the new year (how long are we going to ride this New Year thing you ask? Oh, maybe til Feb.), London’s masked electro maverick SBTRKT released a live album called Live on Young Turk Records. The album features 10 tracks and two videos from his October performance  at  Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London.

Personally, I’m not such a huge fan of live electronic albums. With a few exceptions, only studios can make the sound crisp enough to listen to. The standout here is vocalist Sampha, who has that Antony and the Johnsons/Nina Simone contralto thing going.
