Talk about bad vibes! The government of Guyana is outlawing music by Jamaican dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel from its airwaves, saying the artist brings “nothing positive” to the South American nation’s entertainment industry. The unprecedented move seems to be, at least in part, retaliation for the singer missing show at a government-sponsored music festival last month.
But if Kartel’s risqué lyrics and subject matter are really what rankle Guyanese officials, the unapologetic musician told us recently that he’s keepin it sexy, “I will never stop doing songs about sex. Sex is life, sex is recreation and sex is procreation [laughs]. It’s life and everything in life is based off sex.”
