Reggae Star Busy Signal Arrested by US on Drug Charges

The Jamaican Roots Icon Won't Bask in New Album Glory

Jamaican reggae star Busy Signal has been arrested on drug charges and extradited to the US.

He has been arrested on conspiracy in the US before, but managed to elude conspiracy to possess and distribute cocaine charges for about 10 years, according to Jamaican news outlets.

After a tour in Amsterdam, Busy Signal, real name Reanno Gordon, touched down in the Jamaican airport only to be met with arresting officers. He was extradited to the states and might face life in prison.

Busy Signal just released a breakthrough all roots album Reggae Music Again, as well as a collaboration with fellow reggae act Romain Virgo on his album The System. He told us in March that after his earlier arrest, he was determined to focus strictly on music.
