We’ve written about Norway electro duo Röyksopp’s delays in releasing Senior, their album counterpart to Junior. (Not to be confused with the now defunct Danish pop duo Junior Senior). They’re killing us with the anticipation!
First it was supposed to be released in April this year, then August, then September. Then they released a funny teaser trailer featuring the duo as old men. Now they’ve released the artwork for the album cover, which is just as frustrating as the delay itself.
Just what are we looking at here? I assume they’re band members Torbjørn Brundtland and Svein Berge, but are they dressed as the old men from their trailers? Are they junior or are they senior?
The duo is certainly at a senior point in their career where they can do whatever they want. They’ve been around for almost a decade topping charts, garnering awards and getting coveted by TV commercials with rich, versatile electro tracks.
They released one downtempo loungey track on their website called “Hus Nr 9,” but the tune isn’t listed on their Senior tracklist. A bonus track, perhaps?
The mystery continues…
Check out “Hus Nr. 9″ here…It’s definitely a far cry from their upbeat hits from Junior, like “Happy Up Here.”
