Sample New Raveonettes Album With “Forget That You’re Young”

By toksala | February 10, 2011

It’s pretty crazy how long The Raveonettes have been around, but they’re on the verge of releasing their fifth album in seven years, and the Danish duo shows no sign of dropping their hazy noise pop sound.

“Forget That You’re Young” comes off their upcoming album Raven in the Grave, coming out April 4 (April 5 in North America).

Their music has ranged over the years, with 2008′s Lust Lust Lust being a dark, chill, scuzzy exploration. “Forget That You’re Young” is  gentle, with easy-going 80s pop synth, a repetitive whispering vocal melody, and their famous surf guitar.

The song’s love theme is innocent, unlike the rape, suicide, drugs, goodbyes, and breaking into cars motif in  last year’s In and Out Of Control. Maybe it’s the record label switch. They’re on Vice now.

Listen to “Forget That You’re Young.”

Here’s the tracklist for Raven in the Grave.

1. Recharge & Revolt

2. War In Heaven

3. Forget That You’re Young

4. Apparitions

5. Summer Moon

6. Let Me On out

7. Ignite

8. Evil Seeds

9. My Time’s Up
