Scottish Musician Is Huge On Second Life, Not In Real Life

This is a great story out of Edinburgh.

POL Arida is a world famous one-man act — on Second Life. Apparently, the whole globe craves his sad guitar music, so long as he’s in  avatar form.

Second Life is just what it sounds like. It’s a virtual world you can live in, work in, play in, date in, and run your business from. Some call it pathetic, others call it an opportunity. If you’re a musician who wants a fanbase full of hot goth chicks (even if they’re actually 80-year-old men), Second Life is where it’s at.

In real life, POL Arida has a buzzcut, a pasty northern face, and a small following. On Second Life, he has long dark hair, tan skin, cool outfits, and a bigger, more geographically diverse audience than a record label could buy.

Check out the gloomy acoustic tune  “Welcome to Winter” by POL Arida, featuring his signature rapid-fire guitar strumming. And read The Pop Cop for an interview with him!
