So when it comes to SM Entertainment’s choreographers we all know the big players — like Rino Nakasone, who helped choreograph mega hits such as SHINee’s “Lucifer” and most recently EXO‘s second teaser for Kai and Luhan. But among the many choreographers under SM Entertainment, one in particular stands out as an integral part of SM behind the scenes.
Shim Jaewon, former member of the group Black Beat, saw limited success after debuting under SM Entertainment in 2000, but he is now one of SM’s go-to choreographers. Active on Twitter, he’s the guy who uploaded the sneak peak at SHINee’s “Sherlock” comeback, and was seen giving another hint at Super Junior’s “Mr. Simple” formations with the help of fellow choreographer Gregory Hwang.
While Shim JaeWon utilizes a main choreographer’s moves with his eye for placement, he is also a part of a popular DJ performance team with fellow former Black Beat member Hwang Sanghoon (who also works with SM as a dance choreographer and trainer) called BeatBurger. Collaborating to make pumped up club mixes of the hottest K-pop hits, BeatBurger has a strong underground fanbase in the clubs of Korea. Energetic to say the least, Shim Jaewon with Hwang Sanghoon works to churn out some of the hottest remixes and is fast becoming someone to watch out for.
We’re just glad he’s such an active member on social media sites like Twitter (along with his own BeatBurger YouTube channel) for us to keep up with SM behind the scenes. Check out BeatBurger at Club Vera’s Fantastic Party with their remix of 4Minute’s “Muzik” below and tell us what you think!
