Swedish pop band The Mary Onettes have a way with the ’80s. On their song “Evil Coast” they evoke the like of Mr. Mister and Flock of Seagulls without really feeling nostalgic. There is a sad, weird vibe to the song, but it’s not nostalgic. It’s more majestic, perfect for yachting on a partly cloudy day in order to execute a burial at sea.

The single is out now with an Instagramatic video to go with it. The quartet’s debut album Hit The Waves is out March 12 on Labrador. We predict it will sound like the ’80s, but better.
