The UK’s Keane Now Working with Somalia’s K’Naan and Japan’s Baile Funk MC Tigarah

Here’s an album whose production spans three continents — and it sounds like a match made in heaven.

British piano-heavy pop rockers Keane have always embraced eclectic musical influences. But their upcoming album, Night Train really takes the cake. Recorded in various studios all over the world, the 8-track EP features contributions from Somalian rapper K’Naan — yes, the very same K’Naan we blogged about for snagging the “official song” title for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa for his political track “Wavin’ Flag.”

But that’s not where the guest stars stop. Keane also employed Baile Funk MC Tigarah, of Japan, and wow — this is a new step from the female MC’s previous efforts, none of which had to do with anything near the pop-rock spectrum.
