45 Grave was one of the foundational bands of L.A.’s goth scene in the 1980s, so who better to remember on the Thursday before Halloween than them? Their playfully morbid lyrics, theatrical looks and raw death rock made them underground legends. Fabulously ghoulish frontwoman/punk succubus Dinah Cancer just made the darkness seem so alluring.
Their song “Party Time” became a hit after it was included on the Return of the Living Dead soundtrack. Though they disbanded in 1985, the group played reunion shows until 1991. Aaaaand now they’re back from the dead, just in time for Halloween, with Pick Your Poison, an album of all new songs about things that go bump in the night.
