When African musical icon Youssou N’Dour came by to support the documentary I Bring What I love, we asked him about Western celebrities mouthing off about aid (as in funds), AIDS (as in the disease), and Africa. Much to our shock, he turned the question upside down and dived into a mind-blowing response. In both French and English, Youssou and journalist Siddhartha Mitter discuss why politicians listen when celebrities come calling, the questions Africans must ask themselves, and what Youssou does to stay grounded in reality. He says the last one is simple, but we don't see many other celebrities doing the same.
