What do all the bands in this slideshow have in common? Well, Sweden’s MOA to Australia’s Bleeding Knees Club they all rocked in New York City during the annual CMJ Music Marathon. And they all traveled from far away to do it.

There was a strong international contingent at CMJ this year, especially from New Zealand’s indie scene, with newly-exported representatives like Unknown Mortal Orchestra making an impressive showing. Click through our CMJ yearbook to see who else made it to the party.
