Exclusive Photos: Vybz Kartel Denied Bail in Murder Charges

October 27, 2011

Vybz Kartel will just have to sit tight until trial. The Jamaican dancehall juggernaut was denied bail yesterday in the two murder charges against him, according to the Associated Press.

Kartel — real name Adidja Palmer — has been in prison since October 1 for the murders of two promoters, as well as firearms possession.

His attorney Christian Tavares-Finson seems confident about Palmer’s odds in court.

“The first murder, the basis of [the charge] is really conspiracy,” he told MTV Iggy last week. “…As far we are concerned, that case is tenuous at best.”

Check out exclusive photos of Vybz’ life in the ten years leading up to the trial — as well as the furor around it — and read more about the case in our feature story, “Has the Music Stopped for Vybz Kartel?”
