Yellow Dogs @ SXSW 2011: I Whip My Dreads Back and Forth!

March 24, 2011

Amidst the chaos of SXSW, the Brooklyn via Iran band Yellow Dogs was a calming oasis.

Unfazed by festival stress, the band with the dredlocked frontman played their rumbling garage beats with charming confidence in the dark Habana Bar.

Yellow Dogs have been through far more nerve-wracking situations than SXSW. In Tehran, the government banned them from playing anywhere. They fought hard to get to the stage, eventually migrating to Brooklyn’s indie mecca, Williamsburg.

Amazingly, they seemed right at home on the Southby stage. See for yourself! And read our full review of the show.
