Skateboard Whippings!

Our favorite Jamaican new wave revivalists Acmatic continue the strange saga of Plateface in the wildly imaginative video for “Silver Nimbus.” The video whisks us away to a magical world where, in the group’s own words: “King Lopo awakes to find his beloved Silver Nimbus to be missing!” He has to get it back from the notorious Plateface and his goons, see. We want whatever these kids are eating for breakfast.

We really, really don’t condone violence … but there is a skateboard whipping in this video and it kind of makes our day. No aggro.

Oh, and the crispy synthpop-meets-hip-hop track doesn’t bring us down either.
