If those stick figures you drew in elementary school were made out of white-out and wanted to kill you, then you have something in common with the producers of Loyal Divide’s music video for “Vision Vision.” But just like the vindictive drawings, we feel the need to break out pop-locking every now and again when listening to this single off the Chicago indie rock quartet’s album Labrador EP. First it whines, then the electric beat and the bumping of the bass join in, then the band starts whispering their first few notes. Suddenly you’re wondering why your drawings don’t come to life and dance/kill to your music.
