In their first U.S. tour in March 2009, the Wonder Girls performed LIVE in our MTV Times Square Studio in NY. Between performing songs, they answered our questions about cultural difference between Korea and U.S. (psst! It’s the fans!), how they handle challenges, and why it means a lot to Korean artists to become recognized in the U.S. The “Queen of All Media” Perez Hilton was an early fan of the Wonder Girls, and here he talks about why language differences don’t matter. K-pop maestro JY Park also accompanied the girls and talked about the why their music has American roots. Something was definitely in the air that night, because now, just three short months later, the Wonder Girls are on tour with The Jonas Brothers, fulfilling all those crossover hopes and dreams.
