If you’re an indie rock group based in Bombay, who cares if you don’t use the sitar? “That’s not what we want to do as a band,” says frustrated drummer Jai. They come from varied experiences: Sidd, the lead of the band has had many bands before TOT and is a born musician. Johanm the bassist, used to live in Kansas, USA where he went to college. Pozy — the guitarist was “picked up outside a gym where he was begging for protein shakes” according to Sidd, and Jai, the drummer, is the youngest of the lot but easily the one who keeps them all in line. TOT started as a social message to “quit smoking” but they gave that up within seconds and just decided to play music together. With a couple of guitars and a drum set, these boys bang out riffs that are as fun as their infectious camaraderie.
