Born in Singapore to a Balinese mother and a New York father, frontman Gabe Levine leads Takka Takka to play simple, sparse, pop with an Afro-pop bend that crescendos to moving choruses. Based in Brooklyn, the group has opened for Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and is playing at CMJ on October 23rd at Brooklyn’s Glasslands dance party space.
