Before the performance we sat down with Teresa Suaréz AKA Teri Gender Bender of Le Butcherettes to talk about what motivates her as an artist. She pulled Mars Volta founder Omar Rodriguez-Lopezin front of the cameras to tell how he came to produce and release her album. In the process, we learned what initially attracted the Mars Volta guitarist to Le Butcherettes and that Teri doesn’t dress like a ’50s housewife on stage because she thinks it’s pretty.
